George M. Bee President & CEO and Director
George Bee joins Andina most recently from Aurelian Resources (recently acquired by Kinross Gold Corporation) where he held the title of Chief Operating Officer and was primarily responsible for the development of Aurelian's principal project, the Fruta del Norte Project in Ecuador. Prior to that George was Director, Technical Projects for Barrick Gold Corporation. George first joined Barrick in 1989 and during his career at Barrick was responsible for a number of operating and development projects. In 1998, he went to Latin America as Operations Manager to finalize construction and commence operations at the Pierina mine in Peru. In 2005, with the development of the Veladero mine, he completed his assignment to finalize the advanced exploration and feasibility stages of this large tonnage, low-grade heap leach operation located at altitude in the Argentine Andes.
Keith McKay Chief Financial Officer
Keith McKay joined Andina as Executive Vice President in March 2009 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in June 2009. His considerable finance and management experience at development and operating stage mining companies will assist Andina in making a successful transition from exploration to development and then on to production. Most recently Mr. McKay came to Andina from Aurelian Resources Inc., where he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.Previous to this, Keith was Senior Vice President Financial Operations for an international engineering and project management services firm. Prior to that he was Controller at Rio Algom Ltd., a Canadian based mining company that produced copper, gold, uranium, molybdenum, and coal in North and South America. Keith also served as Vice President, Finance for Potash Company of Canada and has worked with the Bank of Montreal. Keith obtained his Chartered Accountants designation with Coopers & Lybrand.
Alejandro Labbé Vice President, Project Development
Mr. Labbé, who comes to Andina from Hatch Engineering Chile where he was working as Project Manager and Consultant Director, has over 35 years of experience in the mining industry in Chile. This includes 22 years with CODELCO in various roles including divisional General Manager, and 10 years with Barrick Gold Corp. where he was General Manager of the El Indio Mine and Operations Manager for the Pascua Lama Project. Among Mr. Labbé's many accomplishments was the orderly and successful closure of the El Indio Mine, the first mine to be closed under new COREMA (Comisión Regional de Medio Ambiente) regulations. Mr. Labbé is a Civil/Mechanical Engineer and brings a wealth of experience on project development and management of operations at high altitudes.
Michael Leskovec Corporate Controller
Michael Leskovec joins Andina most recently from Gold Eagle Mines Ltd. (acquired by Goldcorp Inc. in September 2008) where he was Corporate Controller and an Officer of the corporation involved in the development of the company's Bruce Channel deposit in Red Lake, Ontario. Previous to this, Michael was an audit and assurance Manager at Smith Nixon LLP, where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation and managed audit engagements of publicly listed corporations traded on the TSX and TSXV. Michael has experience in the treatment of complex accounting transactions as well as the development of accounting systems, processes and internal controls.
